Climategate

by J.R. 4. December 2009 11:01

I have been looking for the right story to sum up Climategate so that I didn't have to type it up myself.   Most people have not heard of the Climategate scandal. Despite the world-wide and multi-trillion dollar repercussions of this junk science influencing policy making (Cap and Trade Scam) the mainstream media refuses to cover it because they are neck deep into global warming.  Fortunately a whistle blower or hacker uncovered global warming for the scam that it is.  From the Telegraph: Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of 'Anthropogenic Global Warming'?

---------------------------------------------------------

"If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more."

 ---------------------------------------------------------

Go read the whole thing.  The mainstream media is refusing to cover this.  Despite the fact that global warming is now thoroughly debunked and global temperatures have been falling for the last 10 years, they continue to look the other way like the scandal doesn't exist.  In fact, just today Associated Press published an article called "Global warming may require higher dams, stilts."   Here is their blinding ineptitude and dishonesty:

  ---------------------------------------------------------

With the world losing the battle against global warming so far, experts are warning that humans need to follow nature's example: Adapt or die.

That means elevating buildings, making taller and stronger dams and seawalls, rerouting water systems, restricting certain developments, changing farming practices and ultimately moving people, plants and animals out of harm's way.

  ---------------------------------------------------------

Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up.  Its like seeing your house on fire and then walking inside to make a cup of coffee.  The lengths to which the mainstream media will stoop to misinform the public is absolutely appalling.

Climategate doesn't fit their liberal narrative on the religion of environmentalism.  That's why you haven't heard one peep about it.  Do yourself a favor and read up on this scandal.  It probably has far greater repercussions on your life than any other scandal to date, but the media doesn't want you to know about it.  Educate yourself.  Politicians hate informed voters.

ESPN E60 Followup

by J.R. 9. November 2009 13:31
ESPN is supposed to be doing another followup story on me to piggyback on this one.  The story will air sometime on November 10th, possibly at 6PM (eastern?) on the program E60.  It will be an update on this last summer, where-despite my injuries from Iraq-I won my 7th Log Rolling World Champonship.  I'll warn you though, they did not do a new interview. They decided to reuse the footage from the event where I was interviewed by a local Fox affiliate.  I gave a crappy interview, so be forewarned if I come off sounding like a putz.

Corrupt Media

by J.R. 2. June 2009 08:32
From Newsbusters:

At the time of this writing, there are nearly 7,000 references to "George Tiller" in Google News.

There are under 500 for "William Long."

George Tiller, of course, was the Kansas abortion doctor murdered Sunday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.

William Long was the 23-year-old military recruiter murdered Monday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.

Are there 14 times more stories about George Tiller in Google News right now because Tiller's murder occurred approximately 24 hours before Long's?

Will there be approximately 7,000 references to William Long in Google News 24 hours from now?

I'm not holding my breath.

I guess the MSM is too busy blaming Oreilly for a guy who has been committing domestic terrorist acts since 1996. I checked around the web. NYtimes? Star Tribune? Nothing. The same goes for all the left wing jackasses in the blogosphere. They were all SCREAMING at the top of their lungs over the abortion doctor killing, yet they haven't mentioned one word about Soldier William Long being killed by the Muslim convert. I guess they're still too busy trying to blame the abortion doctor's death on right-wing conservatives.

Watching MSNBC is Torture

by J.R. 7. May 2009 21:37
This one is just too good not to mention. Ann Coulter properly addresses the ridiculous claims that dumping water over someones head is somehow torture.

The media wail about "torture," but are noticeably short on facts.

Liberals try to disguise the utter wussification of our interrogation techniques by constantly prattling on about "the banality of evil."

Um, no. In this case, it's actually the banality of the banal.

Start with the fact that the average Gitmo detainee has gained 20 pounds in captivity. There's even a medical term for it now: "the Gitmo gut." Some prisoners have been heard whispering, "If you think Allah is great, you should try these dinner rolls."

In terms of "torture," there was "the attention grasp," which you have seen in every department store you have ever been where a mother was trying to get her misbehaving child's attention. If "the attention grasp" doesn't work, the interrogators issue a stern warning: "Don't make me pull this car over."

Farther up the parade of horribles was "walling," which I will not describe except to say Elliot Spitzer paid extra for it.

And for the most hardened terrorists, CIA interrogators had "the caterpillar." Evidently, the terrorists have gotten so fat on the food at Guantanamo, now they can't even outrun a caterpillar.

Go read the whole thing.

Deranged Media

by J.R. 20. November 2003 09:11
There is something seriously, seriously wrong with today’s society when charges brought against some Rock/Pop Music star get more attention than a terrorist bombing that kills 27, and wounds 450 people. I don't give a rats ass if it did happen in another country. Remember kids, that naive "I_don't_care_whats_happening_in_other_countries" attitude helped bring on 9/11.

Just because Big Media hands you a s__t sandwich doesn't mean you have to eat it.

Strange People

by J.R. 30. April 2003 17:32
If you've ever done a search on your name in Google, you probably realize you can find some pretty strange things. Like this article:

First up was the log rolling competition. Unlike the sissy TV guy, I opted to compete in the men’s division.

I was warned ahead of time that the competitors wear spiked shoes to better stay on the rolling logs, but made an unfortunate error in judgment. Showed up in six-inch spiked heels.

Eventual winner J.R. Salzman eliminated me in 0.138 seconds. Salzman, the Tiger Woods of log rolling, is one of nine competitors from Hayward, Wisconsin — population 10. The other guy is a stockbroker.

Reporters can write some pretty strange things. Funny, nonetheless.

Bad Media

by J.R. 2. April 2003 21:49
A photographer in Iraq was busted photoshopping images he took that later appeared in the L.A. Times. Original photos are here. Because of the violation, Walski, a Times photographer since 1998, has been dismissed from the staff.

On the plus side for Walski, I don't think he'd have any trouble getting a job for Al Jazeera now.

Drug Abuse

by J.R. 2. April 2003 10:55
I don't know about the rest of you, but I laughed my butt off when I heard this one. The Iraqi "Information Minister" has stated that Coalition Forces are using booby traps in form of pens and pencils. "They have started throwing those pencils, but they are not pencils, they are booby traps to kill the children." Suddenly we're a military of James Bonds.

Tomorrow France?

by J.R. 1. April 2003 10:30
Up until this point, I think I've felt that same way about the "France situation" as everyone else. Yeah, they suck, but that’s life. But when they do stuff like this, that’s where I draw a line in the sand. Considering that a recent Le Monde/TF1 poll found that 25% of France supports Saddam, I think it's only a matter of time before CNN's "military analyst" starts talking about the best way to invade France. It's one thing to disagree with people about the war, but its another completely to desecrate the graves of those who died for your own damn country. You will hardly ever hear me curse on this website, but I must say there are a lot of heartless bastards over there. I may not agree with anti-war protestors, but that doesn't mean I'm going to start smashing their car windows.

After listening to Donald Rumsfeld tonight (rerun of today), I am once again reminded what a crock most media really is. He basically told them how stupid they are for creating news based on their own assumptions, and how people around the world are attempting to criticize them for things (the media) does not even know. I agree. Turn off the news for a while, and turn on C-SPAN to see the latest info straight from the Whitehouse.

Did anyone else catch this? At the opening of the BBC, there is an option to choose if you are in the UK (yes or no button). If you choose yes, the story on the grave desecration is there. If you say no, you are not in Europe, it is not there. Is this because they believe it is not pertinent to the rest of the world, or because they are fear backlash against France and ant-war protestors? How would the desecration of British, as well as Canadian and Australian graves not be world news? Just for the sake of mentioning, there are no U.S. graves at the site.

If you're as tired of the news as many of us are, try the Instapundit Blog on for size. True, they link to a lot of media, but I think its more people speaking as people for the sake of speaking, rather than the media speaking for the sake of making a buck. (I hope that last sentence made sense to at least one person.)

Madonna proves she is still stupid, but not quite that stupid. Speaking of stupid, Al Gore is supporting the Dixie Chicks. In his speach at the University, Gore stated "I for one am proud to see that Artists like the Dixie Girls are..... what? It's the Dixie Chicks? Who cares what their name is? I'm not here for their benefit, I'm here so I can make a jab at Bush. As I was saying, I for one am proud to see the Dixie Chicks using their First Amendment rights to denounce the actions of that little Texas Twit that beat me in the last election. I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PRESIDENT!!" Gore was eventually escorted off stage by campus security when his complaining ceased to stop. He was later seen sitting backstage at the college auditorium sobbing uncontrollably, mumbling something about Florida voters.

The Truth About the War in Iraq, Part 1

by J.R. 31. March 2003 22:09
The following is my response to an unsolicited email I received via my website. I was actually in the midst of writing something about the war when I received it. The writer simply gave me a body to mold my writings around.

This is the first part of what will be a many part essay, backed up with factual information readily available to anyone in the world. Because of this, I have dubbed my essay

The Truth About The War in Iraq.

To be perfectly honest, I welcome your input and your viewpoint from Canada. However, you should be prepared for my response as a proud American. Just as my country, I'm not one to allow others to tell me what is best for me, especially when I feel they are not completely aware of the entire situation. I will address your unsolicited (yet welcomed) letter with my views as a proud American who loves his country.

To address your comments, do I believe Hollywood's masters of deceit (otherwise known as actors) are entitled to speak their opinions? Yes. Do I believe celebrities should be allowed to use their fame to manipulate the views of others by portraying false pretense that they are the representing the views of the whole country in which they reside? Politicians are elected by a vote of the entire populous of the area in which they are presiding. Funny, thinking back to the last time I voted, I don't recall seeing Martin Sheen on the ballet. And last time I checked, none of the celebrities in question had a degree in political science, let alone a bachelor's Bachelors Degree from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School like President Bush. In fact, very few anti-war celebs have even attended a college. It's obvious the anti-war celebrities have a self centered agenda of profit maximization, especially since the most outspoken among them refuse to debate their opinions in a public forum (a very good article dealing with Saddam's cruelty, btw).

Furthermore, the fact their opinion is being given any more weight than a normal citizen, or better yet, a citizen with friends/family/loved ones currently overseas, or a member of the American Armed Forces is absolutely ludicrous. If starring in a movie qualifies you to be a politician, then as an athlete regularly televised on ABC, Outdoor Life, and ESPN, I am qualified to run the next Summer Olympics. It's a formula that doesn't compute in any country, let alone mine. Personally, I think the gas guzzling SUV driving, primped and padded, anti-war celebrity population should be sent to Iraq for a while to see examples of Saddam's cruelty firsthand. Maybe after they view some examples of the electric shock, rapes, beatings, and psychological pain inflicted to people on a daily basis, they will actually stop to think for two seconds. These anti-war celebrities, whose morals are based on maximizing their own profits, not to mention "trying to be hip" (Janeane Garofalo's exact words) and simply displaying their hatred for President Bush, do not represent a majority of the U.S. population. Other celebrities will tell you the same. Enough about the anti-war celebrities, they and their self-centered agendas disgust me.

I have a hunch that while reading the previous paragraphs, you thought or said aloud to yourself, "he's using all biased, U.S. media to make his point." Let's analyze what you wrote to me for a moment. You are Canadian (that's my presumption anyway). You attend a Canadian University. You said our media (CNN, USA Today, etc.) is "horribly one-sided". Of course you're going to say it's our media that is one sided. After all, how could it be your country whose media is one sided?

Just to get an idea of the media you talk of (or at least I believe you're talking of) I tuned in to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation a few nights. On March 28, at 8 PM Central Standard Time, the CBC was being shown on C-SPAN. Judging from the rhetoric used during the entire broadcast, its easy to see why you think it is only the American Media that is biased. The broadcast started by stating that the U.S. is not prepared for the "thousands of casualties" we will endure. On the topic of psychological warfare (Psyops), their so-called "expert" stated that the "U.S. ploy to not harm Iraqis is all lies." I found it very humorous that your so-called expert on Psyops used the movie Apocalypse Now (ironically starring Martin Sheen, a blatant anti-war celebrity) as an example of how Psyops doesn't work (despite thousands of Iraqis surrendering in the first war with pamphlets found on them). Your "expert" went on to further denounce American efforts to avoid casualties. "It is not an effort to save lives. It is not an effort by the Americans as "good people". It is not that at all. It is simply used to win the war faster."

I could go on and on about the CBC, and what I viewed. True, this is the only Canadian T.V. Station I viewed, since it is the only one available. I must say, if this is the similar to the rest of Canadian Media, I've seen enough. It was so incredibly biased, attempting to undermine U.S. actions at every opportunity, I swore for a minute I was watching an English version of Al Jazeera.

I actually do my best to view other media from around the world to attempt to understand how we are perceived. The language barrier prevents a bit of a challenge at times, but thanks to Google's helpful toolbar with a built in translator, I can translate Germany's Speigel, and other media outlets from around the world. Thankfully, France Daily and the BBC are in English, so I have no trouble reading about what "war criminals" my countrymen are. You actually don't have to read the BBC to know where they stand on the war. Mark Damazer, the deputy director of BBC News stated in a recent interview, "Although it's unquestionably true that we make mistakes, and on a daily basis, we don't only make them in [a pro-war] direction,". Of course, this statement was made during Guardian Unlimited interview during a meeting of Media Workers Against the War that he was attending. Media is all perception, with everyone trying to blur the line between fact vs. fiction, and what they want others to believe.
